And the winners are…
We are pleased to announce the three winners of our worldwide logo contest!
The international jury had a difficult task in choosing the top three from the 12 logos that were chosen as a result of our user-voting. While many criterias had to be accounted for, the most important ones were the uniqueness and originality of the design, recognizability of the small icon, as well as an obvious reference to our name “Mister Wong” and/or the topic of social bookmarking and its associated connotations.
To cut a long story short, (drumroll) and the winners are. . .
Ivan Pashenko, Russia

Hu Nan, China

Israel Betancourt, Mexico

The winners will receive 3.000 USD each!
Now we move on to the final phase of the contest:
The Wong team will decide on the winner (who will receive another 3.000 USD). We will then have to take care of the few legal details. But don’t worry, we will present the result and the new logo in time for the holiday season!
WONG THE WEB!

Hmmm… Nice MASCOTS

That’s a joke, right? None of the logos are mascots! Unbelievable…
I mean they are good logos but just don’t fit the competition rules.

Hu Nan’s logomark is genius.Has volumes of personality…hope you win mate!

Well, great Logos! My compliments to the designer. BUT: I have a question. Where is MISTER Wong? Can not find HIM. Ah, okay, in the logo from “Israel Betancourt, Mexico” I can find a man (in the right half). So, this would be my favourite. The other two ones are really great designs, but there’s no MISTER Wong - for me…

Congratulations.
Where is the mascot? Did one of the winners read the briefing? Did the Juy read the briefing? Why did I read the briefing? Why did I worked after the briefing?
Oh men, I’m just a bad looser

December 7th, 2007 at 16:12
I don’t know how these are mascots (scratch head) i think the jury failed to look up the word “mascot”. Anywho i must congratulate the winners and hope Hu Nan wins since the name “Wong” is Chinese

From the beginning till now , I knew that was a WONDERFUL CONTEST , and each step of the contest have conforted me in my opinion . Need one more proof ?! Ok . When the 12 were selected , I noticed something on Pashenko’s logo ( the 1rst prize ) … go to Youtube watching the video wich was on that website before . Patchenko’s logo appears after 10 seconds , watch it a moment and you will understand if you did not before .

(I see a lot of reivindication here…) I put my works in the contest too, so my opinion will be veiled by envy and all that. I think the same as others: good logos indeed, but doesn’t follow the rules. In most contests, the first selection is to take out the unruly ones. BUT…
In this case the pre-selection is guided by votation, as in many TV contest. The most popular, not the better or more ’serious’ is the winner. I remember a TV contest in wich our company put more than 10,000 SMS artificially for one of the contestants -who is now a well known music star by his own merit-.
So don’t worry, boys. In older times, you put a lot of work and money in presenting a big 50×70 cardboard work and a portfolio only to discover the winner is other. That was bad. This is only a game.
Oh, personally I prefer the green marker of Ivan, but good luck to all three pre-winners!
