while i am not happy with the whole affair (did not vote) i would say that my favourites are as follows: the yeti, bowl of noodles, and the elephant (1st prize for this one)

Well that was fun,
Thanks to the team for this great logo idea.

Disappointed by this top 12 ! :-/
October 25th, 2007 at 18:40
While I am not happy with the whole contest (not itself, “just” the event organisation) I did not vote - although there were some quite nice ideas. To quote miguel, most of the nice looking and well designed entries are far away from what the guidelines demanded. Furthermore you should have accepted open source file formats imho, too. Not everybody owns or *cough* uses a pirated version (and I guess there are plenty of them here as well as those that used their work time hehe) of a vector editing program that is capable of exporting an eps that follows the standards as being used in commercial programs. SVG, for example, is an excellent format (Inkscape). Well, this being said, I hope a mascot wins the contest, despite the fact that I like some non-mascot entries the most.

October 25th, 2007 at 21:54

October 26th, 2007 at 00:07
mauahauahuaaaa!!!
October 26th, 2007 at 05:39
nice logos! =)
i prefer the one from argentina! XD
October 26th, 2007 at 09:54
There seems to be something Mr. Wrong.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:33
all 12 logos are bad
#4 with not bad idea but lukin’ like scraps
October 26th, 2007 at 11:36
Although there are some cute and funny designs on here, none of them seem on target for the brand or as an internationally viable mascot.
October 26th, 2007 at 12:45
i thought no leaning towards any race to be neutral, but it seems that more than a couple of the selected top entries are nationality related, that is chinese. biased contest for me… not fair, oh well…. have a peaceful life :-(
October 26th, 2007 at 12:48
btw, i vote for Ivan Pashenko, Russia ^_^ nice logo. ^_^
October 26th, 2007 at 12:51
i think the maskot from Fernando Gabriel Landi , Argentina is the best…
greetz, chris
October 28th, 2007 at 10:25
Vote for Lorenzo Geiger, Switzerland:
Modern. With the trend of our time. Think of Ebay, Google, IBM…
But I mean the current Mr. Wong is still the best. It is known and a fixed part of the corporate design and corporate identy!!!! It is a BRAND!!!
Be carefully! No new logo associates a community, Web 2.0., bookmarking. Mr. Wong is not a Bambus Shop, Asian Restaurant, animated film. If I see these logos, I cannot associate to Mr. Wong!!! And that must be the claim.
I believe you will destroy a very known brand now! It’s a pity!

hi, im very sad with the contest, cause never send me the code to enter vote, and i send the 3 logos but you place one of my designs, and the designers who place the design in the first two weeks, we dont have any oportunity for the people to vote, anyway the top 12 have the design quality, we send my regards to the winners
October 29th, 2007 at 07:09
Noodles!!!
October 29th, 2007 at 12:31
Bof, bof…
October 29th, 2007 at 14:11
I prefer the one from Elodie. :-)
October 29th, 2007 at 20:33
SB,
is 王 not 黄
October 30th, 2007 at 11:51
some of the designs is not fit for a mascot of a logo…i dont understand why they where selected, i thought it was a mascot logo for MISTER WONG but some are just plain logo…and there is a big difference between a “mascot logo” and just “plain logo”. its unfair for the other designs which really about a MASCOT logo. i really dont understand…its unfair! the contest is confusing if what they really want for Mister Wong existing logo…
October 30th, 2007 at 15:48
I do not believe that these are the real top twelve, because there were a lot a lot designs of better quality than most of these. I can’t believe that so many people voted for JUST EIGHT STARS or a childish drawn dog chasing butterflies when so many other great designs were in the contest. But who knows.
Something is wrong Mr. Wong!
October 30th, 2007 at 18:34

I was online when the voting process has started and there was already some ‘most popular’ logos ! That was instantaneous , magic ! Days after days and 20.000 votes later … nothing changed , still same logos freezing in the ‘already most famous for ever’ category . Could you please do not censure my comment this time ? I am just amazed how such thing can be possible in a real contest . Thanks !
November 1st, 2007 at 17:51
Fake C., “Most Popular” category was not instantaneous. First voting days it didn’t appears, and you couldn’t see the rank when you were going to vote… The “most popular” category appeared then, when the voting period had finished but Mister Wong wanted to make it longer.
Finally, I remember the first 12 in that category… and some of them were not the same than this twelve.
November 1st, 2007 at 21:05
the ‘Fortune Cookie’ and ‘Looping Bookmark ribbon’ are my favorites w/the latter being especially clever, though it should probably be more reddish in color.
November 5th, 2007 at 18:07
FliPeo12 > good try but i am not insane . “Most Popular” category was there when voting process has started ! Just look other comments criticizing the meaning of that category . And i have checked that category many times a day everyday … i never saw a change . You pretend that category appeared only when voting had finished then how comes you have seen some change in the 12 ?! ” But Mister W. wanted …” , how can you know what MW wants ?! You work for MW . Sorry guy but ur explanation is doubtful . Do not censure please , thks .
November 5th, 2007 at 18:18
I like almost all of them for different reasons. But my vote is for the entry from Switzerland, with the slanted lines. Next choice would be the looping bookmark from Russia.
November 7th, 2007 at 23:58
Hello
Look at this link:
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/what/food_and_beverages/food/1195279_fortune_cookie_vector_jpg.php?id=1195279
It really looks like a choosen logo.
Too bad Mr Tom Peters
November 9th, 2007 at 15:36
Haha! Fake C. Are you really not insane? I can’t explain what I want to say very well because I am Spanish and my English is not very good, but I say “Mister Wong wanted…” because they said that! Look, this was the contest process:
1.- We send the designs to participate, and M.W. make them public, and all the people can comment them.
2.- That thing disappears, and when you go to the contest page, now you can see a blank page and a little box to introduce the Voting-ID (I don’t know what goes then because I didn’t have that ID so I can’t introduce it). In addition, a text says that the voting period is “untill next friday” or something like that.
3.- Friday arrives, and Mr. Wong SAYS, ANNOUNCE, (so I don’t know it by working for Mr. W.) that there’s a lot of people voting yet, and they extend the voting period for one or two weeks more (I don’t remember now very well). In addition, in the same Friday, they public the famous “Most Popular” list for the first time, based on the votes from that days that I say on the Step 2). But, I repeat, people CAN vote yet (you said “…You pretend that category appeared only when voting had finished…” and I didn’t said that)
4.- They publish this 12 list, and I can see that the first 12 logos on “Most Popular” category are not the same that 12 logos on this blog post.
Now, I’m sorry if you don’t understand me, but I can assure you that I’m a simple user like you or Yvan, and I’m dissatisfied too with the contest organization (mascots not logos, etc.).
November 10th, 2007 at 19:30
Dear FLiPeo ….. well , well , i don’t really now what i could tell you . That “most famous” category was right there when the voting process has just started and there was no change in that category later. But i gave up and I admit i might be insane . All these logos are wonderful and now i strongly believe that contest was a regular and clear one . Thanks Mister Wong for that great contest , you have done a very good job !

The logo of Ivan Pashenko, Russia - is nice
November 20th, 2007 at 22:03
The elephant is a god symbol in India . so, it cannot used as mascot.
December 4th, 2007 at 20:04
Saludos cordiales

[...] The international jury had a difficult task in choosing the top three from the 12 logos that were chosen as a result of our user-voting. While many criterias had to be accounted for, the most important ones were the uniqueness and originality of the design, recognizability of the small icon, as well as an obvious reference to our name “Mister Wong” and/or the topic of social bookmarking and its associated connotations. [...]

felicitaciones!

Hu Nans Logo I appreciate most. But the little icons are not so good. I like the icons from Anxo (Spain) - that are real eye catching icons.

February 25th, 2008 at 21:50
Mil disculpas:
February 26th, 2008 at 12:41
Hallo Zusammen,

Respekt!
March 11th, 2008 at 12:30
Ich finde alle Logos super toll Gratulation an all`!!!
April 14th, 2008 at 01:58
Hallo,
April 17th, 2008 at 12:22
Klasse Logos. Mein favorit wäre das Logo von Fernando Gabriel Landi.
May 11th, 2008 at 05:59
Ivan Pashenko
Zwar kein Maskottchen, aber graphisch das Beste!
May 28th, 2008 at 10:42
Lorenzo Geiger, Switzerland ist mein Favorit.
June 6th, 2008 at 11:03
June 10th, 2008 at 23:11
#1 - USA flag :-)
#3 - looks like ass
The one by Michael Karasek looks perfect. It’s #8. Strong and impressive.
June 17th, 2008 at 06:52
July 25th, 2008 at 21:49
I think that #7,#8,#9 are lovely… they look unique
