The Berlin Twitter Wall
On November 9th, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell. It was one of the most spectacular and long-awaited events in recent history. The fall of the wall was just the beginning of reuniting Germany and its people after several decades of being torn apart. Now 20 years later the world prepares to celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the wall. Kulturprojekte Berlin has created a virtual Berlin Twitter Wall, using social media to allow everyone to share their thoughts on this historical event.
On www.berlintwitterwall.com visitors can view tweets posted from around the world with images from the Eastside Gallery, pieces of the Berlin Wall left as an art initiative and constant reminder to the city, as a background. Also, clicking on the tiny cameras will display a popup of one of the styrofoam domino artwork created by teenagers, artists, politicians, and celebrities for the event.
You can join in by adding your own tweet to the wall. Just add the hashtag #fotw, which stands for fall of the wall, to your tweets. You can also follow @fallofthewall on twitter for updates and interesting historical fact tweets. And there’s even a facebook group to join to keep up with news and coverage.

You are about 18 years too late. The Berlin Wall no longer exists. The last people to chip away pieces of it by hand with a chisel where at it in 1990. All you can see nowadays are a few preserved stretches that are a memorial and a set of stones in the pavement that indicate where the wall used to be
